Boulder plans pilot program to test bear-resistant trash bins in parts of city
Boulder is working with officials at Western Disposal -- the largest trash-hauling company in the city -- to develop a pilot program that would test bear-resistant trash bins in select areas of the city this year. "It seems like if we could address trash as an attractant in Boulder, we would be making a lot of headway," said Valerie Matheson, Boulder's urban wildlife conservation coordinator.
